Rochester punk/hardcore band Sakes Alive!! have posted 3 new tracks from their upcoming 7 inch entitled ” Act I ” due out later this summer on Barrett Records. All three songs can be found on the bands myspace page. More info / pre-order info ( yes preorders will receive limited color vinyl! ) will be posted soon on the Barrett Records site.

Gainesville, FL punk label No Idea Records have announced they will be repressing Hot Water Music – “Forever and Counting” ( first time this will be available on vinyl in over 5 + years! ) and Lifetime – “Lifetime”. Both records are do out June 24th and No Idea has also started taking pre-order for both. Both of these records are amazing, if you haven’t heard these records you have been living under a rock and need to go directly to the No Idea site and pre-order both LPs for only $7 each ( shit you will even get some cool colored vinyl ).
Another Day at the Zoo (wow this record cover goes great with the video I posted yesterday!! ) is Pitfall’s debut released on Neutral Territory Records. This Massachusetts hardcore / punk band start their record off right with the song “Dried Out” starting with a sample of Jay and Silent Bob : “Shit yea we gots to get paid! On that note we cue the music”. Which is the highlight of the record and also the longest song. Pitfall has a sound similar to bands like Trash Talk. This record has a lot of potential and I’ll be interested to see what they do in the future. Give a listen to the mp3 below, if you like it pick it up for $4.

Boston, MA band Transit will be heading to Gateway Music group June 16th to record for a 7 song EP. Six brand new songs and one cover. For those not in the “know” Transit is a pop-punk band sounding similar to bands such as Fairweather, Hot Water Music, Lifetime, Polar Bear Club, with hints of Saves the Day. They have also just posted a new song on their myspace page form their debut full length “This Will Not Define Us” on Barrett Records.
New video for H2O’s song “What Happened” has been posted from their new album Nothing to Prove on Bridge 9 records. The video features actor Michael Rappaport giving the intro to the video. The video also features guest vocals and apearances by Lou Koller of Sick of It All and Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio. All in all it rules. Check out the video and buy the CD

Creature is a horror punk band based out of Syracuse, NY. They have released a CD EP through Punk Button Records entitled “No Love in Hell”.

I am Tom. I play the big strings. Ian hits things with sticks and Steve is the manager of riff city.
So I hear you had Kris Roe from The Ataris do live Misfits covers with you. How was that?
My pants got so tight in the crotch region. It was a good time.
Will Creature ever been a full time band? And what other bands are your members in?
Creature probably will never be a “full time band” but we sure will play as many shows as we can. Maybe 2 or 3 shows per year. Creature is members of: Another Breath, Merrimac, Life of Crime, Red and Black and Election Day.
Have any upcoming shows/tours planned?
Punk Buttons fest July 25th in Kingston NY. Get into it!

Creature originally formed as a 3 piece water polo team but found much adversity handling balls under water so we turned our attention to music which is highly regarded amongst people of all walks of life.

Rochester, NY punk band Sakes Alive!! have just launched their webstore. I must say I’m into the Mistress shirt design, only if i had an extra $10 to blow…. But anyway. If you haven’t heard Sakes Alive!! I would have to say they sound like Strike Anywhere but a lot more pissed off and raw. Defiantly one of the best up and coming bands in western New York. You can download a free mp3 below or check out their myspace. The band is also in the process or recording new martial for a 7 inch record on Barrett Records. I’ll post more info on that when i get it.
